These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") apply to the Unraveled app for mobile devices (the "Application"), operated by Sofia Levin (the "Service Provider"). By downloading or using the Application, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully before using the Application.
Unraveled is an independent third-party client for Ravelry. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Ravelry LLC. Unraveled does not operate its own backend servers — your projects, queue, stash, favorites, messages, photos, and account data are stored on and retrieved from Ravelry's servers under your existing Ravelry account, subject to Ravelry's own Terms of Use.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, the Service Provider grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Application on a mobile device for personal use. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Application, except to the extent that such activity is expressly permitted by applicable law.
The Application is also subject to Apple's Standard End User License Agreement for licensed application end users, which applies to apps distributed through the Apple App Store. Where Apple's terms conflict with these Terms, Apple's terms govern your use of the Application as distributed through the App Store.
The Application is free to download and includes a 14-day free trial during which all features are available. After the trial ends, continued use of the Application requires a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase to unlock the Application. There is no subscription. The price displayed in the Application is the price at the time of purchase and is set by the Service Provider in Apple App Store Connect.
The 14-day trial state is stored on your device and synchronized through Apple's iCloud Key-Value Store. Because the trial syncs through your Apple ID, signing in to Unraveled on additional devices that share the same Apple ID will inherit the existing trial start date rather than beginning a new trial. The trial start date is also retained in the device Keychain so it survives uninstalling and reinstalling the Application on the same device.
All in-app purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests for in-app purchases must be submitted to Apple via reportaproblem.apple.com. Promo codes issued by the Service Provider may be redeemed through the App Store and confer the same unlock entitlement as a paid purchase.
Use of the Application requires an active Ravelry account. You sign in through Ravelry's OAuth flow, which opens Ravelry's website in a system-managed authentication sheet. Your Ravelry credentials are never seen or stored by Unraveled. Your access to Ravelry's services and your Ravelry account are governed by Ravelry's own Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
Project notes, photos, queue items, stash entries, favorites, messages, and other content you create, edit, or upload through Unraveled are stored on Ravelry's servers under your Ravelry account. Unraveled does not host, store, or moderate this content on its own systems. Ownership of, control over, and licensing of this content is governed by your agreement with Ravelry.
Locally, Unraveled may cache portions of this content on your device for offline display and performance. These local caches are removed when you sign out of the Application or uninstall it from your device.
You agree to use the Application only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You will not:
If the Service Provider becomes aware of conduct that violates these Terms or applicable law, the Service Provider may restrict your access to the Application, in addition to any remedies Ravelry may apply to your Ravelry account.
If you believe content you encounter through the Application violates Ravelry's policies, you should report it through Ravelry's own reporting tools. To report a bug, security issue, or concern about Unraveled itself, contact the Service Provider at feedback@getunraveled.app.
You may stop using the Application at any time by signing out and uninstalling it from your devices. The Service Provider may suspend or terminate your access to the Application if you materially breach these Terms. Where the breach is capable of cure, you will be given 14 days from notice to remedy it. The Service Provider may suspend or terminate your access immediately and without notice if you violate applicable law, engage in conduct that could harm other users, or attempt to circumvent the Application's purchase or licensing controls.
Upon termination, your right to use the Application ends and you must delete the Application from your devices. Termination of these Terms does not affect any Ravelry account you hold with Ravelry LLC.
The Service Provider retains all intellectual property rights in the Application, including its code, design, "Unraveled" name, logo, and other branding. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use the Service Provider's trademarks, logos, or branding. You agree not to remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices displayed in or on the Application.
"Ravelry" and related marks are the property of Ravelry LLC. Unraveled's use of the word "Ravelry" is nominative and descriptive only, to identify the service to which the Application connects.
The Service Provider may update the Application from time to time. Updates may be required for the Application to continue functioning, particularly when iOS or Ravelry's API change. The Service Provider does not guarantee that the Application will be compatible with all versions of iOS or that it will remain available indefinitely. The Service Provider may discontinue the Application at any time without prior notice. Upon discontinuation, the rights granted to you under these Terms will end and you must cease using the Application.
Most of the Application's functionality requires an active internet connection. The Service Provider is not responsible if the Application does not function due to lack of connectivity. If you use the Application outside of a Wi-Fi area, your mobile network provider's data terms apply, and you may incur charges, including roaming charges. You are responsible for ensuring your device is powered, connected, and updated to a supported iOS version.
The Application relies on third-party services with their own terms:
The Application is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, except to the extent required by applicable consumer protection law. The Service Provider does not warrant that the Application will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or compatible with any particular device or version of iOS, or that Ravelry's API will remain available or unchanged. The Service Provider is not responsible for the accuracy of content provided by Ravelry or by other users through Ravelry's services.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service Provider shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, data loss, or business interruption, arising out of your use of the Application.
The Service Provider retains full liability for:
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service Provider's total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Application shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to the Service Provider for the Application in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) the minimum amount that must be paid under applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under applicable consumer protection laws that cannot lawfully be excluded.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Service Provider from and against claims, liabilities, damages, losses and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of your breach of these Terms or your intentional misuse of the Application. This indemnification does not apply to claims arising from the Service Provider's own negligence, breach of these Terms, or violation of applicable law. In jurisdictions where consumer indemnification is restricted by law, this clause is limited to the maximum extent permitted.
By using the Application, you represent that you are legally permitted to use it in your jurisdiction. You must be at least 16 years of age — the highest threshold of digital consent applicable under GDPR member-state law — to use the Application. If you are under 16, a parent or legal guardian must review and accept these Terms on your behalf.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States of America, excluding conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence provide otherwise. Disputes arising under these Terms will be brought before the courts of competent jurisdiction in Alameda County, California, subject to any mandatory consumer law right you may have to bring a claim in your country of residence.
The Service Provider is a trader within the meaning of EU Directive 2011/83/EU and the Digital Services Act (Regulation (EU) 2022/2065). Trader contact details:
The Application is not itself an intermediary service or online platform under the DSA — it is a first-party client application. The Service Provider does not host content uploaded by users on its own infrastructure. Where applicable, EU residents may contact the trader at the email address above for any inquiries related to the Application.
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Apple's Standard EULA, and Ravelry's Terms of Use, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Service Provider concerning the Application, superseding any prior agreements or understandings concerning the Application itself.
The Service Provider may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this document. Continued use of the Application after a material update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Previous versions are available upon request at feedback@getunraveled.app.
